Can we just get this article locked/booted/deleted/failed or whatever the proper term is?

It's not really about gaming and there is no way to argue both sides of it without someone getting offended.

Platinum should do everything in its power to get Bayonetta 2 into the PS4 release window. They should offer Nintendo another game, change the name, re-release it in a package with Bayonetta 1, or do something else, JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN. Bayonetta was pure greatness. But right now the entire IP is going to go down with the Wii U. Platinum just can't afford to allow good IP's to fade away for nothing.

GOW, DMC, and NG just had games to release over the last year. T...

Has anybody considered that Splinter Cell was never really held back. Maybe it just is what it is. Trying to turn it into Call of Duty without giving it the Call of Duty marketing budget is not going to gain you any sales.

Jade just can't allow herself to get upset because Splinter Cell is not doing Metal Gear Solid numbers. Metal Gear Solid has Kojima-san, and Splinter Cell has...Ubisoft.

Actually, when talking about pimpin' the phrase in not "beast" but rather "gorilla", as in gorilla pimpin.

I don't know. Maybe the average consumer won't know, but the average consumer who buys from video game specialty stores will know. EVERY video game specialty store will be out in force against this if it is true....

But we don't know that it is true. Frankly, it seems so likely to cause major damage and so unlikely to produce a tangible benefit for Microsoft, that I find it difficult to accept.

Why would Microsoft do this? Why? What would ...

@Jimbobwahey, Post# 1.1.2

What are you talking about? Microsoft doesn't have to attach an online pass to used copies of games they publish, because Microsoft charges you to play online with the original, brand new copy.

I still have to finish Peace Walker, but it looks like I will be waiting for the first MGS compilation to hit the PS4.

If this is true, then that would settle it for me. I won't be replacing my stolen PS3, I will be buying the PS4 + FFXV bundle that will no doubt be releasing. I'd pay $500 for that.

Yewles is probably correct, or at least halfway correct. The PS4 announcement probably has hurt PS3 sales of both games and hardware). To be honest it probably hurt 360 sales of games and hardware also. I personally had my money ready to buy another PS3 and GOW:Ascension, but when they announce the PS4 I promptly put my money back in my pocket and waited for more guidance.

I'm still waiting for more guidance (emphasis on the word "still"). The PS3 still co...

The Xbox 360 launched at $299 & $399US. The PS3 launched at $499 & $599US.

Xbox 1 was more powerful. So it is possible.

He is probably not talking nonsense. Of all the consoles I've owned or known owned others to own the Xbox 360 is the only one the I've known to fail. All my friend have had a 360 to die at least once. Strangely my 360 has lasted four years. I'm the only one never to have a 360 to die.

@MikeMeyers - Post 1.1.4

There is no way in hell Microsoft is going to give XBL customers an option to play online for free just to "see how much the userbase supports a paid model", nor will they do it out of a sense of fairness.

We know these answers. Xbox live gold subscribers pay for Xbox Live Gold because they must pay if they want to play online PERIOD.

They are trapped by their investment in their 360 console and their lib...

Nevin is right. Take me for instance. My PS3 was stolen. So now I have to choose between a PS3 and a PS4. If the PS4 was BC, then I would not have to choose. As it stands right now, the two systems are competing against each other, and are holding my money hostage. If this is true, the 720 & 360 won't have that problem.

In the first year new systems don't have a lot of games, but the old systems have huge install bases and get plenty games. After the first y...

Blu-ray players can read DVD's. So the 720 could still be BC if it had a bluray drive.

The article says>:

"The "any in history" line is possibly a little hyperbolic as the lowest launch price of a console this century was the Sega Dreamcast at $199.99. The PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360 all started at $299.99 while the PS3 started at $399.99. "

That's not right, the PS3 started at $499 & $599, and even that is deceiving because it was nigh impossible to find the $499 version unless you were lucky.

There is no way I will rely on downloaded games or even purchase a single downloaded game as long as I have the option to go into a store and buy a disc-based version for roughly the same price.

All the reasons given by Roccetarius (post 2.1) and Mydyingparadiselost (post 2.1.1) are as correct as can be. Digital downloads means that you are renting your games and even then you are renting them subject to a very narrow set of usage permissions.

Buying a game ...

Kratos Kills is correct. When I saw the title I thought that MS had confirmed it. The title should be changed to include the word "opinion".
